The electrochemical Oxidation of 4-nitrocatechol in aqueous media was studied using Cyclic voltammetry. The results indicate that the stability of electrochemically generated o-nitrobenzoquinone is low and decreases with increasing pH. Also, our voltammetric data show that the species produced from the conversion of o-nitrobenzoquinone are electro-inactive in the studied potential range. In addition, the results reveal that the rate of conversion of o-nitrobenzoquinone is dependent on the nature of the solvent. According to EC mechanism, the observed homogeneous rate constant of the conversion of o-nitrobenzoquinone was estimated by comparing the experimental Cyclic voltammograms with the digitally simulated results. Finally, a possible mechanism is proposed for the electrode process, on the basis of the present and previous investigations.

The electrochemical Oxidation behavior of m-nitrophenol (m-NP) was studied comparatively on glassy carbon electrode, Pt electrode, PbO2 electrode, SnO2 electrode, and graphite electrode using Cyclic voltammetry. The Cyclic voltammetry measurements were performed in acidic (1 M H2SO4, pH 0. 4), neutral (1 M Na2SO4, pH 6. 8), and alkaline (1 M NaOH, pH 12. 0) media to investigate the effect of pH value on the Oxidation of m-NP. The fouling of electrodes was also studied during Cyclic voltammetry measurements. The results indicate that both of the electrode material and the pH value of supporting electrolyte had significantly influence on the Oxidation of m-NP. In acidic medium, m-NP was irreversibly oxidized on glassy carbon electrode, Pt electrode, SnO2 electrode, and graphite electrode at 1. 23, 1. 26, 1. 26 and 1. 27 V, respectively, while there was no any Oxidation peak for PbO2 electrode. In a neutral medium, m-NP yielded well-defined Oxidation peaks on all electrodes, although the height and potential of the peaks depended on the material of electrodes. In the alkaline medium, the m-NP could be directly oxidized only on glassy carbon electrode and graphite electrode, but their peaks were not well defined because the Oxidation of m-NP occurs closer to oxygen evolution potential region. In addition, the Oxidation peaks appeared at the lower potential value in the alkaline medium than in neutral and acidic media. Under all conditions, except in the alkaline solution and on glassy carbon electrode, the passivation of electrodes occurred during continual scans.

In order to improve the Oxidation resistance of ferritic stainless steel, it is possible to deposit a protective coating onto the steel substrate. In this research, through the usage of pack cementation method a coating of titanium was applied on the surface of AISI 430 stainless steel. Scanning Electron-Microscopy (SEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDAX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used for evaluating of coating structure. Results showed that titanium coating consisted of two layers with the total thickness of 50 micron. The titanized layer consisted of TiFe, TiFe2 and Fe2TiO5 phases. For investigating the Oxidation behavior of the coated and uncoated specimens, isothermal and Cyclic Oxidation tests were performed at 1000  C. In isothermal Oxidation, the Oxidation resistance of the titanium coated specimens was improved by restricting the outward penetration of chromium cation. The results of Cyclic Oxidation of titanium coated samples indicated that they were resistant to lamination and cracking.

In this study, aluminide coating was employed to enhance the high-temperature Cyclic Oxidation of Rene-80 superalloy at 950º C. The microstructural aspects and phase constituents of samples were investigated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The result of Oxidation tests showed that the weight gain in the uncoated sample was considerably higher than the aluminide coated sample, which indicates the higher rate of oxide formation on the uncoated surface. With the aid of microstructural and XRD analysis, it was confirmed that with the increment of Oxidation cycles, the thickness of aluminide coating reduced and the protective β-NiAl phase was converted to alumina scales. According to the EDS results taken from the top coat, it was found that with the increase of Oxidation cycles, the content of aluminum in the top layer was drastically decreased and the weight percentage of oxygen was considerably enhanced. Also, in higher Oxidation cycles, other protective elements such as Cr and Ti outwardly diffused from the inter-diffusion zone (IDZ) layer which led to reduction in the content of these elements in inner zones of the aluminide coating.

STAINLESS STEEL CAN BE USED AS INTERCONNECT PLATES IN SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELLS (SOFCS) BELOW OPERATING TEMPERATURE OF 800OC. UNWANTED REACTIONS BETWEEN THE ALLOY AND OTHER SOFC COMPONENTS DECREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF THESE ENERGY CONVERTORS. IN THIS WORK, UNS 430 FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL WAS COATED WITH MANGANESE BY PACK CEMENTATION METHOD TO INVESTIGATE THE CORROSION BEHAVIOR AT OPERATING CONDITIONS OF SOFCS. THE CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF COATED SUBSTRATES WAS STUDIED DURING TWO TESTS: ISOTHERMAL Oxidation AND Cyclic Oxidation. ISOTHERMAL Oxidation BEHAVIOR OF COATED SUBSTRATES SHOWED THAT THE FORMATION OF MANGANESE SPINELS DURING ISOTHERMAL Oxidation CAUSED TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF Oxidation RESISTANCE BY LIMITING THE OUTWARD DIFFUSION OF CR CATION AND THE INWARD DIFFUSION OF OXYGEN ANION. RESULTS OF ISOTHERMAL AND Cyclic Oxidation EXHIBITED THAT COATED SUBSTRATES DEMONSTRATED AN EXCELLENT RESISTANCE AGAINST THE SPALLATION AND CRACKING.

در این پژوهش رفتار اکسیداسیون چرخه ای و خوردگی داغ پوشش های CoNiCrAlYSi نانوساختار اعمالی به روش پاشش حرارتی HVOF مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. بدین منظور، پودر اولیه CoNiCrAlYSi برای رسیدن به ابعاد نانو مورد آسیاب کاری برودتی قرار گرفته و با استفاده از روش HVOF پوشش نانوساختار ایجاد شد. به کمک آزمون های اکسیداسیون چرخه ای و خوردگی داغ، مقاومت پوشش ها مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت. هم چنین، تغییرات ریزساختار و آنالیز فازی پوشش ها حین آزمون ها به وسیله SEM و XRD بررسی شد. عمر مفید پوشش در آزمون های اکسیداسیون چرخه ای و خوردگی داغ به ترتیب 115 دوره و 700 ساعت تعیین شد. افزایش عمر پوشش های نانوساختار نسبت به پوشش های معمول به دلیل حضور ذرات اکسیدی a-Al2O3 در پودر آسیاب کاری برودتی شده و افزایش نفوذ آلومینیم از میان مرز دانه پوشش بوده که شرایط مساعدی را جهت تشکیل لایه پیوسته و محافظ a-Al2O3 روی سطح پوشش فراهم می آورد.

DIRECT METHANOL FUEL CELL IS AN ATTRACTIVE POWER SOURCE FOR PORTABLE POWER APPLICATIONS AND IN ELECTRICAL VEHICLES [1]. THE USE OF METHANOL AS FUEL HAS SEVERAL ADVANTAGES IN COMPARISON TO HYDROGEN: IT IS A CHEAP LIQUID FUEL, EASILY HANDLED, TRANSPORTED, AND STORED, AND WITH A HIGH THEORETICAL ENERGY DENSITY [2–4]. ALTHOUGH A LOT OF PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF DMFC, ITS PERFORMANCE IS STILL LIMITED BY THE POOR KINETICS OF THE ANODE REACTION [4–6]. PLATINUMBASED NANOMATERIALS SUPPORTED ON CARBON (E.G., PT/C) ARE COMMONLY EMPLOYED ELECTROCATALYST IN DMFCS [7]. THE ELECTRODEPOSITION METHOD FOR PREPARING PLATINUM ELECTROCATALYST IS RAPID AND FACILE, ALLOWING EASY CONTROL OF THE NUCLEATION AND GROWTH OF METAL NANOPARTICLES [8-9].IN THIS WORK, Cyclic VOLTAMMETRY (CV) METHOD (VOLTAGE RANGE: -0.25 TO 0.65 V VERSUS AG/AGCL AND 50 MVS-1 SCAN RATE) WAS USED FOR PLATINUM ELECTRODEPOSITION ON CARBON VULCAN XC-72 PASTE ON CARBON PAPER SHEET. THE EFFECT OF SCAN NUMBER OF CV METHOD ON PERFORMANCE OF PREPARED PLATINUM ELECTROCATALYST WAS STUDIED. FOR DOING THAT, THE SCAN NUMBERS WERE VARIED 10 UP TO 50.THE Cyclic VOLTAMMETRY AND LINEAR SWEEP VOLTAMMETRY (LSV) METHODS WAS USED TO ESTIMATE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE FABRICATED ELECTRODES IN 1 M KOH AQUEOUS SOLUTION AT A SCAN RATE 100 MVS-1 IN PRESENCE OF 1 M METHANOL AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.AS IT WAS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1 & 2, THE SCAN NUMBER OF CV AFFECTS ON EFFICIENCY OF FABRICATED ELECTRODES. ACCORDING OUR RESULTS, THE 30 SCAN NUMBER IS OPTIMIZED CONDITION. ALSO, OPTIMIZED ELECTRODE HAS GOOD OPEN CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AND HIGH CURRENT DENSITY FOR METHANOL Oxidation REACTION.

In this study, the Cu nanoparticles were prepared by reducing CuSO4. These particles were used in making copper nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode (nano-CPE). The electrochemical characteristics of this electrode (nano-CPE) were investigated. The results of the electrocatalytic Oxidation of theophylline (TP) on nano-CPE, using Cyclic voltammetry technique showed that nano-CPE, has more reactivity and more effective surface area, as compared to the unmodified carbon paste electrode (un-CPE). The investigation of voltammograms obtained from Oxidation of TP at different scan rates on the nano-CPE confirmed a Cyclic mediated redox mechanism followed by reducing Cu(III) which is a chemical reaction (EC mechanism). These species formed in more positive potentials and act as a redox intermediate for TP Oxidation. There was a linear relationship between the Oxidation peak current and the square root of scan rate, showing that the Oxidation reaction of TP at nano-CPE might be due to the diffusion-controlled process.

مقدمه: آنتی بادی های Anti-CCp (Anti-Cyclic citrullinated peptide) یکی از شاخص ترین و پیش بینی کننده ترین آزمایش تشخیصی در بیماری آرتریت روماتوئید (RA یا Rheumatoid arthritis) می باشد که وجود آن در بیماری های مختلفی مانند آرتریت پسوریازیس تا بیماری های نورودژنراتیو همچون آلزایمر گزارش شده است. هدف مطالعه حاضر، مقایسه بررسی میزان آنتی بادی Anti-CCP در دو گروه بیماران مبتلا به اختلال حافظه خفیف و پیشرفته به شکل آلزایمر و همچنین مقایسه میزان آنتی بادی در بیماران مبتلا به آرتریت روماتوئید (با درجه خفیف و متوسط) و بیماران مبتلا به آلزایمر بود.روش ها: 29 بیمار مبتلا به آلزایمر، 30 مورد بیماران با تشخیص اختلال حافظه خفیف (MCI یا Mild cognitive impairment)، 44 بیمار با تشخیص آرتریت روماتوئید و 30 نفر از افراد سالم به عنوان گروه شاهد (بعد از تطابق جنس و سن) مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند. آنتی بادی های Anti-CCP به طور کمی به وسیله یک Solid phase enzyme immunoassay kit اندازه گیری شد.یافته ها: میزان Anti-CCP (میانگین ± انحراف معیار) به طور قابل ملاحظه ای در بین بیماران مبتلا به آلزایمر (13.6±1.6) بالاتر از موارد سالم (4.2±1.1) و بیماران مبتلا به 4.8±1.3 MCI بود (P=0.0100). در بیماران مبتلا به آلزایمر، سطح سرمی Anti-CCP در 32.1 درصد موارد غیر طبیعی بود. در مقایسه با آن، سطح سرمی Anti-CCP در موارد خفیف و متوسط آرتریت روماتوئید در 95.5 درصد موارد غیر طبیعی بود. میزان تیتر آنتی بادی به شکل معنی داری در بیماران مبتلا به آرتریت روماتوئید (54.7±4.8) بالاتر از بیماران مبتلا به آلزایمر (13.6±1.6) بود (P=0.0001).نتیجه گیری: به طور مشخص تیتر Anti-CCP در بیماران مبتلا به آلزایمر کمتر از بیماران مبتلا به آرتریت روماتوئید خفیف می باشد و این امر، به طور کامل با توجه به حساسیت و اختصاصیت زیاد این آنزیم در بیماران مبتلا به آرتریت روماتوئید قابل پیش بینی است و این نشان می دهد که حتی در موارد خفیف تا متوسط در بیماران مبتلا به آرتریت روماتوئید، تیتر این آنتی بادی به عنوان نشانگر تشخیصی، قابلیت کاربرد دارد، اما در موارد خفیف اختلال حافظه، میزان تیتر این آنتی بادی تفاوت معنی داری با گروه شاهد ندارد. به هر حال، با پیشرفت روند بیماری به شکل آلزایمر، این آنتی بادی به شکل معنی داری افزایش یافت.
